So, since we’re officially in February, apparently Internet-land has deemed it appropriate to count down obsessively to Valentine’s Day. I’m a big fan of Valentine’s Day. Because, hello, when is it more appropriate to feature red velvet cake all over the place??
Spoiler alert: My favorite part of any holiday are the fun themed dessert opportunities that present themselves. Dessertunities? That sounded better in my head.
To celebrate, I’ve compiled a list of totally drool-worthy recipes that I would love to make in honor of Red Dessert Day. My boyfriend and I are currently in the process of moving, so no fun desserts this week, but a girl can dream, right?
Baby red velvet cheesecakes. There are no other words, really.
I love tiramisu, and I love strawberries — Why didn’t I think of this? (Classic Pinterest comment… don’t judge.) It looks a bit like a strawberry trifle or parfait, but I’m dying to try it! The recipe is in Spanish, but Google Translate seems to do a fairly okay job; you’ll probably have to interpret it a bit.. FYI, bizcochos are cookies! I’m guessing they mean ladyfingers, the traditional cookies in tiramisu.
Fun fact: I really like Pop-Tarts. I never had them until I was in high school, and they sold them in our vending machines. I think these would be delicious stuffed with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella!
When my family vacationed in France a couple years ago, my mom and I took a macaron-making class. It was so much fun! She was much better than me at piping the shells, though, I’m not sure how heart-shaped I could get these..
Because the way to anybody’s heart is through heart-shaped personal pizzas!
